AND I STAND ON THAT QUOTE
“They can’t fuck with me and I stand on that quote”
I knew the second I heard that line that I was going to bring it to life with the Pixel Stick. Sometimes I get an idea for a shot and I can’t forget about it until I get it perfect. That’s fine. Except that was last July. I needed to get this thing out of my head.
Conditions finally lined up this past weekend when it rained overnight on a Saturday, leaving me with plenty of puddles to choose from as I ventured out around 5am.
I put the lyrics in upside down so that when I waved the light stick over the puddle they would read right-side-up. This took a bunch of experimenting with; font size and color, puddle size and background, angle and pose, etc. In the end I liked the light bluish lights in the signature Buckets font as shown below. A cloudy blue hour took care of the sky for me. I hinted it purple in Lightroom but left it untouched otherwise.
