For the longest time I was driven by the thrill of finding a never-before-seen view of CR. I strived to add new perspectives to my catalog of landscapes, to find a different look at my hometown, to make the viewer wonder where, or better yet how, I took the photo. Eventually that quest elevated me above the city, to the rooftops downtown. For YEARS I schemed, plotted, poked and prodded. Every door handle got checked, every fire escape tested for it’s structural integrity, every security guard either slipped passed or confidently nodded to.
While there are still some behemoths on the bucket list (US Bank, Roosevelt, Alliant) I have managed to make it on to well over half of the roofs downtown, allowing me vantage points that very few folks have gotten to see. In the following I will share some of those views, along with the stories that got me to them.
FOR THE RECORD - It is my understanding that statue of limitations on trespassing in the state of Iowa is two years, which the metadata from all photos would show has passed. If that is not the case, THESE WERE ALL MADE WITH DRONES AND AI. Lmao (they were not.)
