My name is Stew and I'm a freelance photographer based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
I specialize in landscape photography, particularly of CR, but I enjoy shooting just about anything.
I've been taking photos since 2014 when I started on cell phone, traveling across Iowa for work. Eventually I got a camera and started posting to an Instagram feed under a goofy pseudonym (an old Instagram tradition) "William P. Buckets".
After a while I became heavily involved in photographing the people and events of Cedar Rapids, working with many local organizations and the city itself on everything from concert photos to magazine covers to volunteer work.
In 2015 I started a photo community for local photographers, models, and creatives, know as the 319Illgrammers, for which I curate an online gallery and host and sponsor meetups and events 4-5 times a year. I also participate in a yearly art auction, Time for Art, hosted by the United Way of Eastern Central Iowa, for which volunteer hours are pledged in the form of bids for local artwork. I've been fortunate enough to collaborate with other local artists and donate several one of a kind works of art to the event, and have received the "Community Impact Award" for each of the last two years (s/o to Mayor Hart & Jessalyn!)
I enjoy traveling as much as I can (#staytrippin) and I am available for hire pretty much anywhere in the U.S. with the right heads up and compensation. Feel free to shoot me an email with any ideas for gigs, print requests, volunteer work, etc. near or far, I'd be happy to hear from you!
